Cedric Muhammad’s Editorial titled D.O.L.N. (Death of Live Nation?)

Read Cedric Muhammad’s editorial on AllHipHop.com titled D.O.L.N. (Death of Live Nation?).  In the article, he gives an in-depth analysis of Live Nation’s business model.  Also read how Cedric gives a shout out to Business Unusual.

“Most of us were fascinated by the ‘$150 million deal’ figure and satisfied to view the news as a celebrity story involving Jay-Z, rather than truly study the finer details and merit of it as a business deal. I don’t know anyone with love for the culture and a business mind for the industry – with the exception of the on-point and excellentBusiness Unusual Magazine (http://www.bumagexchange.com/) – who really has stayed on top of the matter or looked at the fine print of the deal, from filings regarding it, which are available, because the company is publicly traded and has to make such information available.”

I’m not a business man, I’m a BUSINESS…….MAN!

In this editorial, I’ll attempt to illustrate why Jay Z and his savvy    business team, lead by John Menielly, is one of the shrewdest in the    music industry.  This is not another editorial filled with useless talk of    Jay’s affiliations with the occult or his caricature of a sleazy music  executive aka Big Red.  What I hope you as the reader get from this  editorial is the shrewd business ideas that, as an entrepreneur, will get  you to think critically about your business strategy.

More than Rap

As Jay-Z tops the Daily News’ 2009 list of hot New Yorkers, we’re once again reminded that this businessman can do much, much more than release the number one single (which he does quite well, as a matter of fact).
